Jason Anderson

Born in the Mississippi Delta and raised in the historic civil rights landmark of Grenada, Mississippi, Jason Anderson embodies a commitment to faith, community, and a culture of education and hard work. Inspired by the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., whose pivotal civil rights victories listed Grenada in his top 5, Jason is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated, holding a bachelor’s degree with a focus in Marketing from Delta State University and an MBA with a finance focus from The University of Memphis.

In 2010, Jason became the youngest black quality engineering supervisor for Lennox International Incorporated. During his tenure at Lennox, he established and co-led a community engagement program in 2017, earning the Corporation’s Pacesetter Award—one of two Lennox accolades held by Mr. Anderson.

In 2020, Jason assumed the role of Executive Director at the Better Mississippi Foundation, overseeing a bipartisan board implementing strategies and forums for social and economic improvements. Most notably, he orchestrated a Juneteenth forum surrounding socio-economic uplift, featuring panels with leaders from Tougaloo College, Regional Non-profits, local law enforcement, and Joe Biden’s Director of African American Engagement, Trey Baker.

In 2021, Jason was appointed as the National Bar Association’s Director of Community Engagement by President Carlos Moore. Fueled by a desire to inspire the next generation of dreamers to build generational wealth, Jason currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer for “The Dream Commission LLC,” based in Memphis, Tennessee. His responsibilities include developing strategic financial literacy programs and forums to educate, inspire, and empower minority communities and collegiate students.

Leading the Commission’s 2023 Juneteenth Dream Summit Weekend at the National Civil Rights Museum and Renasant Convention Center, registering over 800 attendees, garnered national recognition within the inaugural ForbesBLK newsletter, from MSN, iHeartRadio, along with several regional media publications.

Jason’s most recent accolades include being named to the 2023 “40 Most Influential Memphians Under 40” list and receiving the 2023 Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award signed by President Joseph R. Biden Jr. for outstanding Volunteer Service to the United States of America. Jason Anderson’s journey is not only a reflection of personal success but also a profound dedication to uplifting his community and creating lasting positive change.
